Delian and Denvy   Stefanie   Rachel   Clement

In June 2010, Denvy Lo and Delian Gaskell competed in the Racing the Planet Gobi Desert March - raising funds for Shark Rescue and awareness of the plight of sharks! In this grueling hike across China's "oven", Denvy came in 1st among women and 12th overall! The two racers are inspiring sharkies, and we thank them for their support. Stefanie Brendle is our Hawaiian champion, lobbying the government and inspiring people from around the world. The goal: make the shark trade in Hawaii against the law - the first US state to do so! Hopefully, other states will follow. A true shark champion, find out more about Stefanie!
 
Rachel Pang understood that sharks are threatened, so she decided to do something about it. Based in Hong Kong, she has attracted over 14,500 fans to her Facebook page, calling for the end of shark fin soup at weddings and other festive occasions. Join Rachel on Facebook here.
 
Clement Lee wants to see Hong Kong's tradition of serving shark fin at weddings stopped. He started a campaign that quickly attracted thousands of supporters, calling for giving a fraction of guests' wedding gifts to go to marine conservation. Learn more about Clement here.
             
Stephen Jackie Paul Alex

Stephen Woollard, Critical Environment and Sustainability Manager at Jones Lang LaSalle, convinced the firm to stop serving shark fin soup at all its functions. The company counts over 15,000 employees in Hong Kong and China, so this is a major success. View his inspired presentation!
 
Jackie Hutchings was vacationing in Singapore when she noticed the Marina Mandarin Hotel promoted their WWF partnership, while still serving shark fin soup. Thanks to Jackie, the WWF is taking this up with the hotel.
 
Paul Hilton is an accomplished photographer whose work has placed him as a member of iLCP, the renowned league of conservation photographers. He's an inspiring example of someone actively protecting the biosphere through great work. Learn more about Paul here.
 
Alex Hofford is a photojournalist based in Hong Kong, where he has lived for over a decade. He recently spent four months covering the problems of marine pollution, shark finning, over-fishing and illegal coastal development. Learn more about Alex here.
             
Time Out Best Bully      

We have an understanding with Time Out - Hong Kong, such that the magazine will no longer publish reviews and articles that endorse the eating of shark and other endangered species.
 
We spearheaded a campaign to have Best Bully dog chews stop selling thresher shark spines. The company should be commended for being open to the conservation message and being a learning organization.
